Module 6: Communication & Professionalism

Purpose: Build confident, respectful, and effective communication and professionalism skills among caregivers who serve DDD members.   

Learning Objectives:   

1. Demonstrate respectful, person-centered communication with members, families, and colleagues.   
2. Apply professional standards in dress, language, confidentiality, and conduct.   
3. Identify strategies to manage conflict and build trust within the care team.   
4. Understand documentation responsibilities and how professional communication supports compliance.   
5. Recognize how communication barriers (verbal, nonverbal, cultural, cognitive) affect member care and inclusion.
